I remember being in the 4th grade, wearing my bell bottoms and having no idea my mother knew exactly what they were — until she sat down and told me how they were cool for her too, around that same age, when she was a little girl. I'll never forget that moment. I thought about it over the years, never knowing that 25 years later I'd be sharing that same story with my own daughter, watching her walk out the door in the very same style of pants. Three generations, the same style, coming back around. That's what Deja Slew is. That's the thread we're pulling on.

Just last week I watched a group of people double Dutch jump roping and stopped in my tracks. I used to love that. In an instant, a memory unlocked — and I felt connected to people I didn't even know. That's the magic we're chasing. That's what a shared moment from the past can do in the present.
